I find purpose in designing and building products that make people's lives better, and in solving hard problems alongside great people. The method is part art, part science: intuition and curiosity, experiment and iteration, and relentless execution.
My life-long project is making things: products and the teams that build them, music, ideas shared freely, and stories about the stars and the ships that might one day reach them. Different forms, one impulse. Beauty out of nothing.

Pass the flame, not the torch.
I deeply enjoy training the next generation of Product Managers as lead instructor at Product School. It started in 2017 with a few talks. Then I was invited to provide the keynote presentation at #ProductCon London 2019.
Me as keynote speaker at ProductCon London 2019. Product management often feels like juggling chainsaws.
I also recently completed a year-long product management training programme, tailored to develop the next generation of product leaders at a major US company, Cox Communications.

I'm a proud member of The Planetary Society and The Mars Society and other space organisations.

Stars and starships are my deepest passion, so I write and compose music about it, and here is just a sample.
Nothing can stop an idea whose time has come.
We are at an inflection point in the space industry. Paradigm shifts in business architectures and the proliferation of agile space startups is resulting in lower barriers to develop innovative space technologies. This has increased the economic capacity and viability of the space economy.
Mars is of sublime and magnificent beauty.
Mountains, valleys and mesas take your breath away and leave you wanting. Through robot eyes or your own, every shade of red, brown, purple and ochre combine in a mesmerizing landscape of greater extension and extremes than Earth itself. Weather is hostile and terrain inhospitable, yet our heart is forever captive and we’ll traverse the void at any cost.

I compose music.
First I had a couple of digital synths, but now my studio is my Mac.
My music is on all the major streaming platforms.
Still pretty much an idea I'm working on. This will be the soundtrack for the Rama Series by Arthur Clarke and Gentry Lee.
